Lyn ValleyArt and Craft Centre

Home Gallery

The Lyn Valley Art & Craft Centre began in a very small way in 1975 in the Old Pavilion in Lynmouth. In 2001 we moved from there up to the disused Methodist Church in Lynton. The poor building was in rather a dilapidated state, very dark & gloomy and leaked bucket loads when it rained.

Over the years we have lightened & brightened the place, increased the number of contributors and acquired a grant from Open Spaces in 2010 to improve the garden area. The result is a very attractive & inviting area, both inside and out. It’s a never ending story with improvements & repairs ongoing every year.

We lease the Old Church from North Devon Council who own it. It’s a grade 2 listed building for which we have complete responsibility for its upkeep. Our excellent contributors work very hard to produce an exciting range of products, all made within the local area and everyone commits to a half day duty once a fortnight to run the place. They also pay a small percentage of commission which is used for the upkeep of the building, display items and bills.

We operate as a Social Enterprise so our profits, after all our costs, help to support our local Hospice Shop by buying all the bubble wrap, bags & stationery items they need, so cutting their costs & giving more money for their excellent cause. We frequently give small amounts to other worthy local causes whenever we can.

We are unable to sell online as many of our products are one offs and different items are coming in & out every day. However, if you have an idea of an item you want or saw something when you visited us, we can post anything to you. Just call our Manager Jeni on 01598 752549 at any time - we’ll always try to help.

If you are an artist or craftworker from the North Devon/Exmoor area and might be interested in joining us, then do get in touch. We’re always interested in new products and sometimes have space available.
